Regression cases

124 regression cases. Exact-match tests.

Each case pairs inputs with an expected result and its source: HMRC-published examples, cases we derived from the legislation and HMRC guidance, and third-party cases. Money figures must equal the expected result exactly, to the precision the source gives (eight third-party bond cases state per-segment gains in whole pounds), or the test fails.

Deferred cases are listed on the Trust page with the others, marked separately, and are not in the count. Where HMRC guidance is ambiguous, we record the interpretation we apply; the Trust page says how, and the record is available on request.

How a figure is made

AI never does the maths. Code does the tax.

Where AI reads figures from an uploaded document, the adviser reviews each one before any calculation runs. The calculations are ordinary code with no AI in them: the same inputs give the same result.

A filed calculation keeps its inputs, the rule versions and each step for your firm’s chosen retention period (six years unless the owner changes it), so the record can be checked later. Your firm can also delete a filed record sooner, so keep your own copy of each filed annex.

ParaplanAI is a calculation tool, not advice. The adviser using it stays responsible for every figure that reaches a client file.

Security and data

Security and data protection. In writing.

  • Security

Sign-in, encryption, how each firm's data is kept apart, the audit log, backups and breach reporting.

  • Data Processing Agreement

The Article 28 terms between a firm and ParaplanAI. It is a summary, not a signed agreement: read its note before any firm uploads identifiable client data.

  • Sub-processors

Who else handles data for us, and where.

  • Data minimisation

What we hold, why, and when it is deleted.
